Isflamma
February 7 -20, 2010 Grythyttan beach, Hällefors kommun
For 14 days the Grythyttan beach in Hällefors Kommun (Sweden) will be the scenery for inspiring courses and impressive art. Isflamma will end with a spectacular presentation on the 20th of February, arranged and executed by many artists specialized in a wide range of disciplines. During the festival artists and students can create their own works, participate in courses and participate in creating the spectacular presentation. Isflamma is an international festival for contemporary art with high quality standards, but approachable for everybody, professional artists from around the world and local population.
courses:
They offer 1-day and 3-day courses given by Sandis Kondrats (Latvia) and Sue McGrew (Japan/USA), specialized in working with snow and ice and Marjan Verhaeghe (Belgium), specialized in creating art projects in nature. The courses are given in 2 periods: The first period is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8th, 9th and 10th of February.
The second period is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 15th, 16th and 17th of February.
The costs are €. 75,00 for a 1-day course, € 225,00 for a 3-days course.
they can also offer a short instruction how to work with ice instead of a full course.
For groups they can offer special courses on other days.
You are not obliged to participate in courses. For art schools it's also possible to participate with or without own staff.
participation fee:
For all days they charge a fee of € 10,00 per day/per person, to be able to organize the festival. You don't have to pay this fee on days when you participate in a course. In return you will get blocks of ice to work with, tools, support on the ice when needed, a copy of the dvd they will make, local newspapers when there are articles about the festival, a daily campfire and some candles you need to present your work on the presentation on the 20th of February. they invited Robert Jan Leerink (Norway), specialized in pyrotechnical art, be involved in the spectacular presentation with fire and fireworks.
place to stay:
During the festival participants can stay in the residency of EuropeanArtists.tv in Hällefors. The costs are € 15,00/150 kr. per night. they provide common bedrooms/dormitories.Note: for our guests they provide a free daily transport from the residency to the festival area.
meals:
they provide meals during the festival: breakfast, lunch (with warm soup), fruit, coffee and tea during the day and diner, all together for € 15,00 per day, which need to be paid in cash. they are trying to keep the costs as low as possible, sometimes they might need some help in the kitchen.

they already expect participants from Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Germany, England, Italy, Latvia and Japan/USA.
