Phil Bloom 'De robot en de toekomst'

Opening: donderdag 19 juli van 17.00-20.00 uur TETEM kunstruimte presenteert de solotentoonstelling van Phil Bloom waarin ze een dwarsdoorsnede geeft van haar werk; van het vroege oeuvre tot de meest recente doeken uit 2012. ‘De wereld van herten en robots’ is Phil Bloom’s wereld – de herten spelen al jaren een hoofdrol in haar werk, waarin het mythische, het anekdotische, het aardse en het concrete van alledag samenkomen. Ze legt nu de focus op het ‘menselijk’ bestaan in de verre toekomst en de vragen: Wat zijn de robots over de 3000 jaar en wat zal er gaan gebeuren met de natuur en techniek? Naast grijsblauwe schilderijen zijn er schilderijen met kleurrijke taferelen. Ze verbeelden een bizarre sprookjeswereld waarin Disney even gemakkelijk wordt gecombineerd met de Hindoe mythologie als de klassieke onderwerpen uit de schilderkunst met die van de hedendaagse. De tentoonstelling opent op donderdag 19 juli om 17.00 uur, tegelijkertijd met de Multi Solo en Roomlicht, met een welkomstwoord door Phil Bloom en performances van Ronald Bal, Christine Clinckx, Carina Gosselé en Mette Sterre. De tentoonstelling is te zien t/m 2 september 2012.  TETEM art space presents the solo exhibition of Phil Bloom in which she gives a cross section of her work from the early work to the most recent paintings from 2012. The world of deer and robots is Phil Bloom's world – for years the deer have played a key role in her work, in which the mythical, the anecdotal, the earthly and the everyday come together. She now places the focus on 'human' existence in the distant future and questions like: What are the robots over 3000 years and what will happen with nature and technology? In addition to gray-blue paintings, paintings of colorful scenes are presented. They depict a bizarre fantasy world in which Disney is just as easily combined with the Hindu mythology and classical with modern subjects in painting. The exhibition opens on Thursday, July 19 at 5 pm, simultaneously with the Multi Solo and Roomlicht, with a welcome by Phil Bloom and performances by Ronald Bal, Christine Clinckx, Carina Gosselé and Mette Sterre.
