Op 24 mei presenteert ArtEZ studium generale in samenwerking met Robin van den Akker (Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam) en Timotheus Vermeulen (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen) A NEW DAWN. Een dag vol lezingen, masterclasses en workshops. Een bijzondere line-up van internationaal gerenommeerde sprekers en kunstenaars. Met hen praten we over en werken we aan de  fundamenten van kunst in een nieuwe wereld. Over back to basics, sustainable design, de nieuwste technologieën, constructief engagement, alternatieve economische modellen, verhalen vertellen en de terugkeer van emoties.

Met een wake-upcall door Tobias Revell (futurist) en Laura van Dolron (stand-up filosoof). En diverse workouts vol powertalks, ideeëninjecties en fonkelnieuwe perspectieven. Met: Tod Machover (componist, uitvinder),  Next Nature (Hendrik-Jan Grievink), Ulf Aminde (beeldend kunstenaar, theatermaker), Nicole Beutler & Jessica Helbach (choreograaf & ontwerper), Rob Voerman (beeldend kunstenaar), Michiel Schwarz & Diana Krabbendam (sustainist denkers en ontwerpers), Saskia van Drimmelen & Margreet Sweerts (modeontwerper&regisseur), John-Paul Flintoff (journalist, filmmaker, auteur), Charles Avery (beeldend kunstenaar, schrijver), Wunderbaum (acteurscollectief),Willem Schinkel (socioloog), Katja Gruijters (food designer). Tenslotte een cooling down met Timotheus Vermeulen & Robin van den Akker (cultuurfilosofen).

Wij hebben het genoegen u uit te nodigen deel te nemen aan A NEW DAWN. U kunt zich vanaf  16 april met enige voorrang inschrijven voor (een deel) van het programma via onze website www.artez.nl/studiumgenerale. Vanaf 22  april zal de aankondiging voor de inschrijving voor A NEW DAWN breed worden verspreid.

Arduino Basics Workshop

Friday April 26th from 13:00 to 18:00

Arduino boards are small physical computing platforms, consisting of a simple I/O board and an integrated development environment. They can be used to develop stand-alone interactive objects and can be connected to software on your computer as well. How does the Arduino work, how do you program it, and how can you integrate it into your own projects? This workshop starts with the very rudimentary and ends with a crash course in programming. What do you need?

For this workshop you need some Arduino gear and the Arduino software. You can download the software here. If you don't have any hardware or the Arduino itself yet, you can get a nice kit online at Antratek. The inventor kit is the most complete, but if you're on a budget we suggest you get the Starter Kit Flex in combination with a small servo-motor. Antratek also sells loose parts. Here is a list of all the parts you need. Radio Rotor, Hecke and Muco in Amsterdam also sell parts. If there is a specific sensor or actuator you would like to use during the workshop, we advise you to bring it yourself. Don't forget your laptop!

The workshop takes place on Friday April 26 from 13:00 to 18:00 at Mediamatic Fabriek, VOC-kade 10-12, Oostenburg Amsterdam. Tickets are €125,- incl VAT.
