Nicky Larkin was born in Ireland in 1983. He studied Fine Art in Galway Art College in Ireland, and Chelsea College of Art, in London. His work exists somewhere in the crossover between video-art, documentary and experimental film. He has exhibited extensively with video installations and sound pieces, and he has also directed several short films. His work has been shown at The European Media Art Festival, The Locarno Film Festival and The Strasbourg International Film Festival. In September 2008 he arrived in Enschede to begin work in the artist's studios B93. He was initially attracted to Enschede because of the idea of Enschede being "the last stop" on the train. His current body of work in Enschede is exploring how this idea of finality affects the dynamics of a city on the edge…."The last stop". The exhibition will be comprised of several large scale video and sound works.
The opening reception of "The last stop" will take place together with the official opening of the exhibition "Ode to Mechanism" in Medialab Enschede, situatued next to the Free Spaces at Tetem II.
